STRICTLY Come Dancing stars are set to waltz into West Linton as part of the BBC's Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.

The Communards’ Reverend Richard Coles and last year’s Strictly Come Dancing winner, actor Joe McFadden, will be joined by antiques experts David Harper and Phil Serrell in search of a bargain in an upcoming episode.

Now in its eighth series, the show invites star guests to put their knowledge and bartering skills to the test as they set out in classic vintage cars to find antique bargains, before selling them at auction.

The episode, set to air on Tuesday November 27 at 7pm on BBC Two, takes the team to West Linton, Edinburgh, Motherwell and Glasgow, finishing with auction in Newcastle.

Before the auction south of the border, Richard and David play football at one of Scotland’s most famous clubs while Joe and Phil end up going around in circles deep underground.

The latest series of the show premiered last week with upcoming episodes set to feature celebrities including Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington, The Royle Family’s Sue Johnston, Benidorm stars Sherrie Hewson and Tony Maudsley, and actress Claire Sweeney.

John Redshaw, series producer at STV Productions, said: “It’s always exciting to hit the road with a new set of celebrities, and this series is no exception.

“We have a brilliant line-up of competing stars going head-to-head on the antiques trail and I think viewers will love following their road trips as they track down weird and wonderful bargains in antique shops around the country.

“Some of the more interesting items found during the series include a vintage vaulting horse uncovered by Joe Pasquale, emblazoned with the name of its former owner – HMP Broadmoor.

“Denise van Outen made an unlikely purchase of a plough, whereas Claire Sweeney pinned her hopes on a toy tank. And Jordan Banjo definitely wins the prize for the most unusual buy – a pair of mismatched Edwardian glass eyes.

“There is even a bit of scandal in this series with an accusation of foul play when an antique is damaged at auction by the opposing team.”
