A DISPUTE with his wife over financial matters has resulted in a £270 fine for a 35-year-old man at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Michael O'Neill pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by making offensive comments and damaging crockery.
The offence happened at a house in Alice Hamilton Way, West Linton, on June 14.
The court was told O'Neill, now living in Tranent, had been suffering from depression and there had been a build up of events before the offence.
His wife has since returned to Poland and divorce proceedings are underway.
