THE search is still on to find the winner of a £1million lottery ticket – and it could be a Peeblesshire News reader.

As we reported last month, the ticket was bought in nearby South Lanarkshire.

But the owner only has until Monday to claim the life-changing sum.

The draw was made on May 30 and the winning code of the Millionaire Raffle – AQUA 2910 9850 – is at the bottom of the Lotto slip.

Andy Carter, from the National Lottery, said: “Time really is running out for the winner of this prize, but we are still hopeful that someone will come forward at the very last minute to claim the money. We’re urging everyone to check their old tickets one final time or look anywhere a missing Lotto ticket could be hiding.”

If no-one comes forward before the prize claim deadline, the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.
