A 48-year-old woman has been remanded in custody at Jedburgh Sheriff Court after being accused of driving while almost four times the legal alcohol limit in Peebles at the weekend.
Lisa Gray - who gave an address in Kilsyth - appeared from custody and pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving with 86 microgrammes of breath, the legal limit being 22.
She has lodged a special defence of post-incident drinking.
A trial date has been fixed for December 18 at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
But Gray pleaded guilty to a charge of breaching her bail conditions by being in Peebles. Sentence has been deferred on that matter until the outcome of the trial. A motion for bail was refused and Gray was remanded in custody until the trial date.
