A 48-year-old woman has been accused of driving while almost four times the legal alcohol limit in Peebles, last month.
Lisa Gray - who gave an address in Kilsyth - appeared from custody and pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving with 86 microgrammes of breath, the legal limit being 22.
She has lodged a special defence of post-incident drinking.
A trial date has been fixed for December 18 at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
But Gray pleaded guilty to a charge of breaching her bail conditions by being in Peebles.
Sentence has been deferred on that matter until the outcome of the trial.
A motion for bail due to a hospital appointment this weekend was rejected due to a lack of vouching and she was remanded in custody.
