POLICE are calling on Borders businesses to be vigilant, after fake £50 notes were used in the Borders.
On Saturday officers received several calls regarding counterfeit cash being passed in the region.
And they are telling locals to report any suspicious activity.
A spokesperson said: "Several calls were received tonight [Saturday] regarding fake £50 notes being passed particularly in the Scottish Borders area.
"If taking £50 notes as payment and you have any concerns regarding the notes, please refuse to take them and contact Police Scotland on 101."
