A 53-year-old man who admitted being in possession of heroin at his Peebles home has been fined £225 at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Colin Boyle pleaded guilty to the offence which happened at his flat in the Cuddyside area of the town.
The court heard that police officers attended at the property and found Boyle lying unconscious after injecting himself with the class A drug.
Four grammes of heroin worth £120 were recovered.
Sheriff David Clapham reduced the fine from £300 to £225 due to the guilty plea.
