A HOTEL based in the heart of Peebles is celebrating after being crowned Town Hotel of the Year at the Regional Scottish Hotel Awards.

But it wasn’t the only award to be served up to The Tontine Hotel, after winning awards in the outdoor pursuits category for being both biker and cycle friendly, and another for informal dining.

And the staff didn’t go away from the ceremony in Edinburgh last week empty handed, after Jack Dickson picked up the Scottish Borders Food & Beveridge Individual and Becky Oakes was named Receptionist of the Year.

The Tontine has now earned its place at the final Scottish Hotel Awards Ceremony which will take place in April at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow.

At the helm of the successful hotel are proprietors Gordon and Kate Innes, who say they are extremely proud of their staff.

Kate told us: “Gordon and I are delighted that the Tontine has been recognised in the categories of Town Hotel, Informal Restaurant Dining and Cycling Hotel. And we are very proud to see both Jack and Becky win their individual awards.”
