NOMINATIONS close this weekend for the role of 2019 Whipman.
The historic festival is the highlight of the West Linton calendar.
And each year one lucky villager is selected to lead the festivities.
The proposed Principal must reside in the Whipman area of West Linton, Carlops, Newlands, Kirkurd, Lamancha and Dolphinton.
Nominees should be of suitable character, but do not need to be able to ride a horse as training will be arranged.
Nomination forms can be handed in at tomorrow's (Saturday's) Coffee Morning or alternatively dropped into a Whipman voting box in one of the village shops, hotel or restaurant.
But the deadline is tomorrow.
The successful Principal will be introduced on Friday, March 15.
This year's Whipman Week will run from Friday, May 31 to Saturday, June 8.
