TWEEDLOVE bike festival has announced its biggest ever programme of child- and family-friendly events.

Since its inception the Peebles-based TweedLove festival has provided plenty of fun for all the family.

But for 2019 it is stepping up a gear with help a new partner - award-winning Frog Bikes - to launch the Transcend Bike Festival.

Neil Dalgleish, director of local events company Hillside Outside who organise the festival, told us: "Transcend will not only celebrate the epic mountain bike trails we have here in the Tweed Valley but will offer an experience for the whole family - we are delighted to have the support of Frog in making this happen.

“Frog Bikes was the natural choice as our kids partner.

Frog not only produce awesome, unique, child-specific bikes but they share our vision of creating a generation of happy, active and healthy children, riding bikes.”

The festival will include the Frog Bikes Kids Adventure Zone containing a pumptrack, the Frog Bikes Demo Fun Loop, craft activities, face painting, and so much more.

“In addition, we have introduced, for the first time, a family friendly campsite so you can truly make a weekend of it, exploring the festival and everything the Tweed Valley has to offer,” says Neil.

The Frog Bikes family day will take place on Sunday, May 26, Victoria Park, Peebles.

And Frog will also be supporting the GOe-Bike Family Ride, which sees hundreds of parents, children, grandparents and anyone else who wants to take part, cycle the Tweed Valley Railway Path from Peebles to the Transcend Festival village in Innerleithen.
