PRIORSFORD pupils proved to be in the know this week by walking away with the district Rotary Club quiz.

On Tuesday evening teams from Eddleston, Halyrude, Kingsland, Priorsford, St Ronan's and Walkerburn primary schools all took part in the brainteaser.

As well the 36 pupils, around 100 spectators packed into Innerleithen Union Club.

The quiz, which is run by both the Peebles and the Innerleithen Walkerburn and Traquair Rotary clubs, consisted of eight rounds plus a bonus observation round which had 10 questions.

Right from the start it was a tight contest, finally resulting in the Priorsford B team emerging as the winners - scoring an amazing 64 out of a possible 80 points.

The Priorsford team now progresses to a Borders area final held in Selkirk this spring.

Since 2012, Priorsford primary school have won the local and area heats, progressing to the final round of the quiz almost every year.

The winning team was Jenna Clelland, Ethan Botwright, Fin Price and Daniel Newsam.
