A local charity has set up new weekend Fun Sessions for children across the Borders.

Live Borders invested in the project to bring more fun, affordable activities to brighten the weekends of children in the region.

The activities include roller-blading, Inflatable Fun Sessions, Neon Sports, and Nerforce - NERF games which include battles using ‘blasters’ that shoot missiles made from Nerf foam.

Olly Robertson, Area Manager at Live Borders said: “Live Borders has taken an innovative approach as we aim to diversify our product offering for this key age group. We have a responsibility to ensure that there are affordable options for Borders families and feel the programme of fun sessions aligns well with the already popular swimming and play programmes.”

The fun will move from centre to centre, alternating between towns in the Scottish Borders, and children will be able to take part in a range of different activities without having to travel far.

The charity ran a successful trial over the Christmas holidays, and they have selected Galashiels, Selkirk, Kelso, Hawick, Peebles, Jedburgh and Eyemouth as locations.

The Fun Sessions kicked off on March 22nd with Nerforce in Kelso. Find out more about future activities by visiting www.liveborders.org.uk/funsessions or checking Live Borders social media pages.
