PEEBLESSHIRE Youth Trust has received a donation of £1,000 to help support its programmes for young people across Tweeddale.

Barratt Homes employee, Emma Stenhouse, recently nominated PYT for this award after her daughter, Grace, benefitted from over three years of the charity's support.

Established in 2009, the trust now works with over 60 young people every year across Tweeddale.

They offer one-to-one support as well as group programmes, to help build resilience and boost self-esteem.

PYT has more than 50 volunteers who play a vital role in delivering the programmes offered to young people.

Emma, who is assistant site manager with Barratt Homes East, was asked to choose a local charity that the company could assist.

And she decided upon PYT after witnessing how her daughter, Grace, has improved after regularly engaging with the charity.

Emma said: "I am so grateful for Peeblesshire Youth Trust and the difference they can make for those who are in need.

"They help to build confidence, to support young people with additional needs, and to provide a lifeline for families.

"My personal thanks for everything they have done for Grace and my family."
