HAYLODGE parkrun is looking for more people to take part.

But you don’t have to be a runner or even a walker.

Everyone is welcome to the weekly event to volunteer or just support. Martin Kelso from the parkrun told us: “Our volunteers come in all sizes and ages.

“You don’t need any previous experience as its very straight-forward and you will be shown what to do. It’s not too serious and we go for coffee afterwards.

“As a volunteer it’s lovely to chat with and support people as they come past.

“We also welcome sporting or social groups getting together to provide all the volunteers at a parkrun.

“Peebles and District Round Table will be providing all the volunteers as well as lots of participants on April 27.”

The parkruns take place every Saturday morning at 9.30am in Haylodge Park.

The 5k course is free and is open to runners, joggers and walkers.

Buggies and children are also welcome, but under 11s need to be supervised by an adult, while dogs need to be on a lead.

Martin added: “There’s no commitment to turn up every week, just when you have the time. Free registration and information is available at parkrun.org.uk.

“Or if your club or group would like to carry out a ‘Haylodge parkrun takeover’ contact us at haylodge@parkrun.com.”
