A SYMINGTON textiles company has provided the tartan for a Medal of Honor recipient as he took to the catwalk at a renowned charity event.

Calzeat, a family-owned producer of high-quality textiles, collaborated with Glenisla Kilts to produce the Navy SEAL Tartan worn by Master Chief Edward Byers Jr as he attended the ‘Dressed to Kilt’ show in New York last week.

Master Chief Byers, who earned his Medal of Honor by risking his life to save a civilian in Afghanistan, donned the tartan as he took to the catwalk with his daughter.

The annual charity event, which raises funds for the Navy SEAL Foundation, was held in the Church of the Holy Apostles and is a joint celebration of Scottish Clans and Native American Tribes.

This year’s show was attended by a host of celebrities including Scottish rugby stars Thom and Max Evans and Orange Is the New Black actress Francesca Curran.
