A MAN was left needing hospital treatment after an alleged assault in Clydebank.

The 21-year-old was near to Dalmuir train station when someone he didn’t know approached him, reportedly placed a weapon to his throat, and scratched him several times.

He was walking along the canal path near the station when the incident took place on May 12, at around 10.30pm.

It was a group of men who approached him, but only one who carried out the reported assault with a “bladed weapon.”

The 21-year-old returned home and informed a family member.

An ambulance was contacted and police attended.

The victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he got treatment for three wounds, and was informed that, thankfully, they would not cause permanent scarring.

Officers are carrying out enquiries in order to identify those responsible.
