THE 90th Biggar Gala Week got underway with the investiture of 2019 Cornet Alan Bartholomew and the Sashing of Fleming Queen Sophie Leech at the Municipal Hall.
An inaugural service at St Mary’s Kirk, followed by the Riding of the Marches, kicked off a packed week of festivities in the historic town.
The Cornet will be assisted throughout the week’s events by Cornet Elect Michael Allen and 2018 Cornet John Scott.
The Gala Week is set to conclude with Biggar Gala Day on Sunday, June 15.
