HALF of the 44 houses at a development being built in Innerleithen have already been reserved.

Whiteburn are developing the former Caerlee Mill site with two-, three- and four-bedroom homes.

During its recent 'off-plan' sales launch a total of 22 of the properties were reserved by buyers.

The properties are being marketed by LSL Land and New Homes.

Alan Baxter, regional managing director of LSL Land and New Homes, told us: "The development at Caerlee Mill is an incredible success story.

"Considering other UK residential development launches, it's undoubtedly the best launch LSL has had in 2019 so far.

"The Edinburgh market is booming, this wider geographical reach, which now includes the Tweed Valley and, in this case Innerleithen, can offer buyers a great lifestyle balance, as well as properties that are well designed and importantly offer terrific value."

Work is ongoing for a consortium to develop the neighbouring Caerlee Mill building into a mountain bike centre.

Roger Bainbridge, Whiteburn’s director, believes the lifestyle Innerleithen offers is part of the appeal.

He said: "We have created designs with an emphasis on natural daylight and flexible living space to provide comfortable, contemporary homes.

"Innerleithen is a stunning location in the Scottish Borders with a range of outdoor pursuits including renowned Glentress mountain bike centre."
