Unpaid work order for St Boswells man who sent 'menacing' texts
A ST BOSWELLS man who sent menacing text messages to his partner has been ordered to carry out 125 hours unpaid work at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Twenty-nine-year-old Jordan Edmonds of Hamilton Place, pleaded guilty to the offence which happened between January 31, 2018, and January 31 this year.
The court was told the unpleasant messages included one saying "die and I will be happy".
Passing sentence Sheriff Peter Paterson said:"Why adults feel the necessity to communicate in this manner is a mystery to the court."
The unpaid work is to be carried out over 12 months and is an alternative to custody.
