A PEEBLES dance school is celebrating after being named as an SQA Accredited Examination Centre.
The Fiona Henderson School of Dance was approved by the Scottish Qualifications Authority.
This means the organisation can now offer SQA courses to its pupils at National Progression Awards, National 5 and Higher levels with classes starting in September 2019.
Principal teacher Fiona Henderson told us: "I am delighted we’re able to announce our SQA Approved Centre status.
"This has been a major exercise for our school to achieve this accreditation and the SQA are extremely robust and rigorous in their assessment criteria which examines our facilities, policies, procedures, and teacher experience and qualifications.
"This is another important milestone in the ongoing development of our dance school, and it is fantastic news we will now be offering a range of SQA classes for our pupils, allowing them benefit from gaining academic qualifications in conjunction with their existing love of dance."
The Fiona Henderson School of Dance is holding an open day on Sunday, August 4 from 2pm-4pm at FHSD Studios, Old Halyrude School, Old Church Road, Peebles, EH45 8LH.
