FRESH plans for housing on Venlaw hill in Peebles have been announced.
Despite previously being refused permission to build on the controversial site, Carmichael Homes have submitted a pre-application notice for 22 houses.
And a public drop-in event is being held next month as part of the consultation process.
An application to develop the green-field site was first submitted in 2008 - later being withdrawn due to strong local opposition.
A further outline bid to build on the slopes was refused permission in 2017 by Scottish Borders Council.
And an appeal to the Scottish Government was also turned down.
Unsuccessful attempts have also been made to have the site zoned for housing within the Local Plan.
Carmichael Homes will hold the drop-in event at the Burgh Hall on Wednesday, September 25.
