PEEBLESHIRE'S 2018 Citizens of the Year, Mike and Sheila Stark, have further reason to celebrate this week.
The Peebles couple celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary last Thursday.
Mike and Sheila were honoured by the community last year for their tireless fundraising for veterans' charities, having raised over £100,000 for Poppyscotland.
The now great-grandparents were married at St Michael and All Angels Church in Bampton, Devon, in 1959.
It was through Mike's work with the Forestry Commission that they moved to Scotland in 1971.
After a spell at Bonchester Bridge, Mike was promoted to a post at Glentress Forest - and Peebles has been home ever since.
They have a daughter and son, Heather and Craig, three grandchildren and a nine-month-old great-granddaughter.
As well as continued support for Poppyscotland, the Starks remain active supporters of the Royal British Legion and the Peebles Ex-Servicemen's Pipe Band.
Sheila is also a regular behind the counter at coffee mornings in the town.
To mark their 60th anniversary on September 12, Mike and Sheila received a card from Her Majesty the Queen.
They will be joined by family and friends on Saturday at the Tontine Hotel for a celebration.
