TWO men accused of causing damage to buildings at a Galashiels church by lighting up a barbecue have walked free from court.
Connor Straiton, who is 20, of Glebe Park, and 18-year-old Connor Allan of Tannage Brae, both Duns, had both been charged with wilfully setting fire to the barbecue.
It was claimed the fire led to damage of outbuildings at the Catholic Church in Stirling Street on March 2.
But the case against the pair was deserted shortly before a trial was scheduled to take place.
