THE Rotary Club of Peebles has hailed last Saturday's annual coffee morning "a highly successful event". The MacFarlane Hall was at its capacity, the home baking stall sold out, all tombola prizes were won and there were many happy raffle winners. More than £600 was raised which will enable donations to be made to Bonnie Peebles and to the Peebles Food Bank.

Club President David Duthie said: “The Rotary Club of Peebles would like to thank the always generous public for their support. And again local businesses Forsyth’s, Tontine Hotel & the Orange Grove provided raffle prizes for which we are extremely grateful. Thanks are also due to Elmbank Print for assistance with promotional material. And last, but not least, many thanks to our 'Friends of Rotary' who used their time and skills in the kitchen without which the home-baking stall would have been empty, to the Circle of Friends who managed the kitchen and Rotary associates who assisted with the Tombola.”
