AT locations across the Borders, readers and writers of all ages will be able to take part in fun activities from Monday, November 18 to Sunday, November 24, thanks to Book Week Scotland.

Marc Lambert, CEO of Scottish Book Trust said: "Book Week Scotland brings people of all ages and walks of life together to share and enjoy books; it is a week of books and reading for everyone.

"We have an exciting range of inspiring, unusual and accessible events with a diverse mix of authors, writers and illustrators. This year we are celebrating the theme of conversation in all its forms, from a wee blether to the life changing heart-to-heart.

"We hope you can join us at a local Book Week Scotland event, or online through our Digital Festival."

Tailored for little ones, Bookbug Fun lets children sing songs and listen to stories, they can also bring their favourite book to the session. Age ranges for each session are dependent on location.

Up-and-coming writers can also enjoy workshops with award-winning playwright Tom Murray, who founded the Galashiels Writers' Group, and poet Dorothy Baird will run blether writing workshops. Murray's sessions will be in Peebles and Duns and will detail the importance of 'idle chatter' when writing. Baird's session will be in Galashiels and will give you the chance to express yourself freely, have a blether and write away.

In Peebles you can drop by the library to get crafty from Monday to Friday where you can see the range of crafts and activities planned.

And in Kelso, visitors can enjoy a 'Ginversation' at Rutherford's Micropub with author Claire Askew over a complimentary gin. Learn about creative writing and listen to some spoken word and poetry.

Ginversation and the Blether workshops require booking. Book directly with Rutherford's Micropub on 07515 516795.
