AVIATION authorities have revealed that a drone came within 30 metres of a passenger plane flying over the Borders during the summer.
According to the UK Airprox Board the risk of collision above the village of Dewar - between Heriot and Eddleston - on August 12 was 'very high'.
The Airbus A320 was flying at a height of 7,000ft when the drone came within dangerous proximity.
The Airprox board said the drone was also in controlled airspace and was "endangering other aircraft".
