A BANNED driver was under the influence of drugs when he was stopped by police in Galashiels, Selkirk Sheriff Court has been told.
Twenty eight year old William Devlin, formerly of Gala park Court and now living in Edinburgh, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified on June 4.
He also admitted driving while under the influence of drugs and with no insurance.
Devlin also pleaded guilty to a separate complaint of being in possession of heroin at the Iceland Car Park in High Street, Galashiels, last month.
He also obstructed police by attempting to swallow drugs in his possession and assaulting a female police officer by kicking her on the leg.
Devlin was banned from driving for 18 months and was placed on a high-tariff structured deferred sentence and the case will recall on January 13.
