NOT quite your average Nativity play, Tweed Theatre are bringing something a bit different to the Borders this Christmas.

A bizarre mix of a traditional Nativity performance, with singing sheep, a boyband, X Factor style auditions, this year's Tweed Theatre Pantomime is set to be unlike any seen before.

And it wouldn't be a good old British pantomime without our heroes, King Herod as the villain, dame Nellie Scarlett and a donkey.

As rehearsals come to an end, and the scripts have been learnt, all the performance needs now is an audience.

Performance begin on Thursday, December 5, and run until Saturday, December 7, the three shows will start at 7.30pm. There will also be matinee shows at 3pm on Friday 6 and Saturday 7.
