SEEING out the year with their senior showcase, dancers from the Fiona Henderson School of Dance put on a show to remember with Dance reimagined.

Held at the Eastgate Theatre on Saturday, November 30, FHSD showcased dances from a range of genres, including Highland, ballet, contemporary, jazz, Scottish National and Irish.

All performances were danced to a variety of music too, including more modern tunes like Christina Aguilera and SVRCINA as well as the classics like Bach.

Dance Reimagined showed the audience how much thought had gone into the performances. One dance titled Wing$ aimed to highlight consumerism and conformity, whereas the dance Can we Autocorrect Humanity, was a thought provoking piece detailing young people's reliance on their phones and the impact this has on society.

The show was then brightened up by performances from great musicals such as Hairspray, Motown one number was performed to the recently released Get Happy from the film Judy.

FHSD dancers were they joined by performers from the Stardust Musical Theatre Company who performed pieces from the show Matilda.

Overall, the contrasting and innovative show drew in much praise from the audience, with many taking to social media, describing it as "fantastic" and a "fabulous show" with "amazing dancers".

Fiona Henderson School of Dance has its studios in Peebles where it runs more than 100 classes and lessons for more than 300 pupils aged between 13 months and 75 years old.
