THIRSTY guests at Stobo did their bit for charity last month – just through drinking cocktails.

The Peeblesshire venue decided to donate all proceeds from its new drink 'Pink Rhapsody' to the Borders Macmillan Centre.

And a total of £2,700 was raised.

Mandy Winyard, director of Stobo Castle: "When the idea was suggested by members of the team, we were more than happy to agree and help a charity close to all our hearts.

"I would like to thank every one of our loyal guests who purchased a Pink Rhapsody last month, helping to reach this amazing total."

A cheque was presented to the charity at Stobo earlier this week,

Lynda Taylor, Macmillan nurse consultant and lead clinician in cancer, said: "We want to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Stobo Castle and, of course, their guests who have helped raise such a fantastic amount of money to help local cancer services here at the Borders General Hospital.

"We really do appreciate every penny.

"Donations like these help us do things we wouldn’t be able to with our core budget and its these little extras and enhancements that really can make the world of difference to people who are receiving cancer treatment."
