SBC Chief Executive Tracey Logan said: "I would like to thank all those who offered facilities to us to accommodate face-to-face teaching for pupils.

“These offers came in from neighbouring local authorities, partners, community groups and local businesses and we are deeply grateful for all their support.

“We are pleased to have been able to get these plans in place quickly given the complexity and scale of this operation and we are now finalising the transport and catering arrangements and will provide more details as soon as we can.

“Obviously there will be some disruption to the normal operation of some of these venues, including to groups and individuals that would normally use them, however this is an extremely challenging time and we appreciate the community’s ongoing understanding and support.”

Parking restrictions in Peebles and Galashiels may be in place to facilitate the transportation needs for students.

Ewan Jackson, Chief Executive for charity Live Borders, added: “In what has been a very difficult time for everyone involved, we are fortunate to be in a position to be able to support and offer facilities.

“This will impact on some existing bookings, but we welcome understanding in what is an unavoidable situation.

"We are working hard to make alternative arrangements where possible, and are contacting those affected in order to minimise any disruption to existing bookings or events.

"If anyone has a booking and wishes to discuss this with us, please contact our venues team on 01896 661166.”
