A SELKIRK man has admitted stealing a purse containing £500 from a woman's home in the High Buckholmside area of Galashiels.
Lee Dickson, 25, of Bannerfield Drive, appeared from custody at Jedburgh Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to the theft which happened on Monday.
The court heard that Dickson knew the woman involved and acted because she had been "bragging" about the money she had.
The £500 was recovered in full after he was detained by the police nearby.
Sentence was deferred until January 27 when Dickson's Community Pay Back Order review hearing is due to take place, and he was granted bail.
