NEW arrangements have been made for Peebles High School students to collect their belongings from the school this week following the fire on November 28.

SBC staff have now been able to retrieve belongings from more than 1000 lockers from the two least affected areas of the school.

Items found in the Millennium Wing, Science, Music, CDT areas and the John Muir House were available to collect from Tuesday, December 17 from the school's assembly hall.

After extensive safety checks, the assembly hall has been largely unaffected by the blaze so has been cordoned off from the rest of the school as a safe zone for collections.

Yesterday, S1-S3 students were accompanied by staff to the school and will again be chaperoned today (Wednesday, December 18) to collect their belongings from the High School and to fill out a receipt form and make note of any missing items.

Students from S4-S6 will be able to visit the collection point from 3pm to 7pm tonight with a further chance to collect belongings made for tomorrow (Thursday, December 19).

Belongings have been organised into groups as: CDT 752-793; Music 800-825; Music 997-1052; Music 933-996; Lower Millennium 1-216; Lower Millennium 217-277; Lower Millennium 297-320; Lower Millennium 283-295; Lower Millennium 321-345; Lower Millennium 696-745; Lower Millennium 379-473; Lower Millennium 541-692; Upper Millennium 477-540; Science 829-932; CDT 6 and John Muir.

Access to the school can be made through an entrace at the security fence on Bonnington Road.

For items such as car keys, driver's licences etc which are missing, specific requests should be made to SchoolEstates@scotborders.gov.uk for their collection.
