BIGGAR textile business, Calzeat, has successfully raised over £8000 for the Scottish SPCA with the sales of their Funfair and Carousel scarves.

The family run business has partnered with the Scottish animal rescue charity since 2013.

As part of the fundraising, £1 from every Funfair and Carousel scarf sold is donated to the charity, which so far adds up to £8,272 for SSPCA.

The charity scarves are made from 100 per cent lambswool and are designed and made in Biggar.

Vicky McEwan, Corporate Fundraising Manager for the SSPCA said: “We are delighted Calzeat are supporting us and helping our work through the sale of their cosy and fashionable scarves.

“As an animal welfare charity, we receive no government funding and we rely solely on donations, so we are always incredibly grateful for any funds raised on our behalf.

“With the support of Calzeat, we’ll be able to rescue, rehome, rehabilitate and release even more animals in desperate need of our help.”

David Galbraith, Managing Director at Calzeat added: “We are very proud to be associated with the SSPCA and be in a position to help with all the great work they do.”

The scarves can be bought from Calzeat's website or from one of their five shops in Peebles, Callander and Edinburgh.
