HEAVY snow caused major problems on many roads across the Borders this morning.
Drivers were advised to take care throughout the central Borders and Peeblesshire as around three-to-four inches fell.
The A68 was partially closed at the Carter Bar due to a jack-knifed lorry and heavy snow brought traffic to a standstill for close to an hour on the A721 at Kirkdean in Peeblesshire.
Heavy snow on the A7 at Gorebridge also led to lengthy tailbacks, and there were rports of several vehicles becoming stuck at Ashkirk and also at Mosspaul.
School transport was affected with the S05, S09, S15, J08 and E24 services all cancelled.
The P32 and P18 ran late due to the disruption, and the P08 only collected pupils from main roads.
The X95 bus service from Edinburgh to Galashiels was also cancelled during the early morning rush-hour.
