SCOTTISH Borders Council's Health and Social Care Partnership has invited members of the public to take part in their Locality Working Group (LGW) to help develop and deliver their strategic plan for 2018-2021.

The LGW has been split into five different locality plans to give each community the chance to participate.

Five meetings will be hosted across the Borders next week and in February to agree each group's draft terms of reference, nominate a locality lead and to outline the dates for future meetings.

Every LGW should aim to meet up to four times a year with their membership made up of local community members, as well as staff from the voluntary and public sector.

All five of the LGWs will be part of the Partnership's strategic planning group, with one being elected to join the Integration Joint Board.

Chief Officer Health and Social Care, Robert McCulloch-Graham, said: "Our LWGs provide the public and professionals with the framework to develop and deliver local actions that can make a real difference to local health and social care service delivery.

"They were instrumental in the creation of our locality plans, but they are now out of date and the actions for each locality, in particular, need review and development.

"The Partnership, supported by the Integration Joint Board, firmly believes that the LWGs give us a solid structure for effective locality working, and I would encourage anyone with an interest in health and social care services to come along to their local meeting and be part of the conversation."

The five meetings open to the local community are:

· Teviot & Liddesdale, Tuesday, January 28, Hawick Town Hall, 6.30pm-8pm

· Berwickshire, Thursday, January 30, Eyemouth Community Centre, 6.30pm-8pm

· Eildon, Tuesday, February 4, Galashiels Volunteer Hall, 6.30pm-8pm

· Tweeddale, Wednesday, February 5, Innerleithen Memorial Hall, 6.30pm-8pm
