A WEST Linton man who admitted driving while almost six times the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the road for 15 months at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Adrian Gaisey, who is 45, pleaded guilty to the offence which happened in the Peeblesshire village on the afternoon of November 15.
The court was told that concern had been raised about the overly cautious way Gasiey was driving his vehicle and police were informed.
When officers tracked him down to his home in Alice Hamilton Way he gave a breath/alcohol reading of 129 microgrammes, the legal limit being 22.
In addition to the disqualification period, Gaisey - who was described in court as a self-confessed alcoholic - was fined £270.
