FINES of £400 have been imposed on an Innerleithen man who admitted damaging a bench at a local social club during a disturbance.
James Harkness, 25, of Caddon Court, pleaded guilty to charges of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and also vandalism at the Vale of Leithen Social Club on January 27 last year.
Selkirk Sheriff Court was told he had purchased a replacement bench for the club.
