AN exploration of High Street habits has opened at the Tweeddale Museum and Gallery in Peebles.

Our Changing High Street is a temporary exhibition charting the changes in the way we shop shop today with how people used their stores in days gone by.

From mediaeval markets to Ebay and candlestick-makers to coffee shops, the exhibition looks at how our High Street has changed.

Chris Sawers, museum and gallery assistant, said: "This exhibition is filled with a variety of wonderful objects and a wealth of images going back to the 1880s, which illustrate how people lived in the past.

“We’re also inviting visitors to also add their memories to the exhibition.”

Entry into the exhibition is free.

But donations are welcome to support the work of Live Borders.

Our Changing High Street runs until April 18 at the Tweeddale Museum and Gallery, Chambers Institution, High Street, Peebles.
