A man has been arrested after the "attempted murder" of two people in the Borders.
It comes after police revealed they were conducting investigations following an incident near Ashkirk on Friday (March 6).
A police spokesperson said: "A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman in the Borders.
"The incident took place at around 11.30pm on Friday, March 6, in the Ashkirk area."
The spokesperson added that the arrested man is due to appear at Selkirk Sheriff Court tomorrow (March 10).
