A West Linton man and his wife have collected their OBEs at Buckingham Palace.

David and Wendy Maisey were both honoured for services to international trade and the British economy.

The couple are the founding directors of technology firm ICC Solutions, providing solutions and services for secure payments such as chip-and-pin.

ICC Solutions has previously earned four Queen’s Awards for Enterprise – two for innovation and two for international trade.

David, who now lives in Cheshire, told us: "I am absolutely elated and truly honoured to be the recipient of an OBE.

"I feel privileged to be the co-founder of ICC Solutions and have the opportunity to make such a positive influence on the British Economy."

David attended West Linton Primary School and Peebles High in the 1970s.

He progressed to become head boy at Peebles High before going on to obtain a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science at Heriot-Watt University.

During his youth he also played bagpipes in the West Linton Pipe Band and Peebles Ex-Servicemen's Pipe Band.

His dad, James, still lives in West Linton.
