The number of COVID-19 patients who have died in the Borders now stands at seven.

An NHS spokesperson confirmed today (March 31) at 1.59pm that two more people had died since yesterday.

Across the Borders General Hospital (BGH) and community hospitals, there are 28 patients who tested positive for coronavirus, while a further 13 suspected cases await results.

The intensive care unit (ICU) is treating five patients who tested postive.

But seven virus patients have made a recovery and have now left hospital, the spokesperson added.
