A PEEBLES mum is entertaining the town with her wacky workout videos.

Kirsty Thomson has been posting footage of her fitness regime online since the imposition of lockdown.

And her updates are proving to be a big, she told the Peeblesshire News.

Kirsty said: “I just want to cheer up the people of Peebles, lighten the mood, and help people get through the day with a smile of their face.”

Kind-hearted Kirsty is well-known locally for her quirky antics – and she once memorably appeared on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway dressed as Captain Tea Towel, her superhero alter-ego.

Her latest project has seen her run a video diary showcasing a variety of exercises.

The day typically begins with a Joe Wicks session – and then continues in madcap fashion.

Kirsty has posted routines of her dressed as Santa Claus, and has kept the neighbours entertained by doing the Superman routine in the street.

“The support I’ve received is keeping me going. But as it turns out it, my video diary has been keeping my facebook followers happy as well.

"It’s something for people to have a laugh at when beginning another day in lockdown," said Kirsty.

By popular demand, she is now taking suggestions from families.

“I am getting lots of requests from friends wanting me to sing songs, the dafter the better," Kirsty revealed.

Keep up the good work, Captain Tea Towel!
