NETBALL players in Peebles have been delivering medicine to people who cannot leave home.
When sports fixtures were cancelled, members of the Stuart Netball Club contacted the Peebles Covid-19 Support Group.
The athletes are now collecting prescriptions from Boots chemist and dropping them off in Peebles and nearby areas.
Jodie Troup and Claire Mahon are among the players who jumped at the chance to lend a hand.
They said: “We are thankful we can do something to support our community, especially when they have been so good at supporting us when we started our own club.
“We deliver six days a week and we are helped by members of our households (Danny, Kerry, and Robyn).
"A few of the other girls help out on a Saturday to give us some time off.”
The women give up their time freely and pay for their own fuel.
They said: “Most people have been so lovely and very grateful. They really appreciate what we’ve done for them, which is so heart-warming.
"Some do need to remember we are only volunteers taking time out of our days and we don’t work for Boots. We do it because we want to help our community.”
