TEACHERS in the Borders are due to return to school next week.
Scottish Borders Council (SBC) says some teaching staff will go back from June 11 to prepare for classes to restart in August.
It comes after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced that schools can reopen from August 11.
An SBC spokesperson said: "Some teaching staff will return to schools on or around 11 June, during which time very small numbers of pupils may be able to access schools to support transitions and also school leavers.
"Our priority is the safety of pupils and staff and we are putting in place the necessary arrangements and will continue to provide updates to parents."
