A PRIMARY school pupil has run 30 miles over 31 days to raise money for the NHS as it battles coronavirus.
Millie McMath, aged seven, put her best foot forward and pounded the pavements of Innerleithen to generate £1,015.
The St Ronan’s pupil was cheered on by well-wishers who spotted her in the town throughout May.
Her mum Dannielle told the Peeblesshire News that the youngster was inspired by the fundraising efforts of Captain Tom Moore.
After signing up to virtual challenge Race At Your Pace, Millie was tasked with running 20 miles in May.
But that was a little too easy for the youngster, who decided to go another 10 miles on the treadmill at the end.
“Millie started off running with her dad and was very enthusiastic and enjoyed it that much, she couldn’t wait to go out again," said Dannielle.
She added: “Both her dad and I are super proud of what she has achieved by raising money for something that is so vital in the current circumstances.”
