THE winner of the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction will be announced tomorrow (June 12).
A ceremony had originally been scheduled to take place at the Borders Book Festival.
But the festival was cancelled due to coronavirus restrictions, so the winner will be declared on BBC Radio 4 instead.
To hear the announcement, you can tune in to the channel's Front Row programme at 7.45pm.
The organisers of the competition hope a formal ceremony can be held at Abbotsford later in the year.
The shortlist was revealed in March.
Previous winners include Hilary Mantel, Andrea Levy, Sebastian Barry, Tan Twan Eng, Robert Harris, John Spurling, Simon Mawer, Benjamin Myers and Robin Robertson.
This is the shortlist for the prize
The Narrow Land by Christine Dwyer Hickey
The Parisian by Isabella Hammad
To Calais, In Ordinary Time by James Meek
Shadowplay by Joseph O’Connor
The Redeemed by Tim Pears
A Sin of Omission by Marguerite Poland
