THE Borders has achieved a week without any coronavirus deaths, according to the latest figures.
The National Statistics of Scotland (NRS) issued its weekly update today (Wednesday, July 1), covering deaths up to June 28.
There has been no change in the number of deaths, with the toll remaining at 72.
Of those, 53 deaths happened in hospital, with 12 in care homes. There were also seven deaths at homes/non-institutions.
The latest figures represent a halt to the previously increasing toll.
In the period up to June 14, there had been 71 deaths.
- Up to June 7: 68 deaths
- Up to May 31, 62 deaths
- Up to May 24, 58 deaths
