A 72-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist has died in a crash on the A68.
The incident happened near the Carter Bar at 4.10pm yesterday.
The man, who was riding a Honda motorcycle, was involved in a collision with a Renault Trafic van – between the border and the A6088 junction.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Inspector Brenda Sinclair, of Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit, said: "Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this time.
"We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances and would urge anyone with information who has not already spoken to police to make contact.
"Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident 2174 of July 28."
