A CHOIR in Peeblesshire has been meeting online throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

Members of Tweed Valley Male Voices (TVMV) normally meet every Monday for rehearsals.

But the outbreak has forced them to head online.

A spokesperson said: "TVMV has performed in a large number of locations, including Peebles, Innerleithen, Traquair, Selkirk, Melrose and Carlops and always enjoys an enthusiastic reception.

"In common with the rest of society, however, all TVMV rehearsals were cancelled for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis.

"However, the choir has continued to communicate via Zoom meetings each Monday evening and are really looking forward to singing together whenever conditions permit.

"The also enjoy an hour of Zoom chat each Monday, including putting the world to rights, of course, and currently discussing how, when permitted, they can really get together again and resume rehearsals."

The group is also hoping to encourage more people to join them.

The spokesperson added: "TVMV would still like to welcome anyone interested in joining the choir – either to sing or to play accompaniment for them.

"No auditions are required and, although the ability to read music helps, it is not vital and can be acquired quite easily for the purposes of the choir.

"Obviously, they cannot meet again until conditions permit, but anyone interested would be most welcome to meet the choir at their Zoom meetings first."
